Optimize your website with SEO

If you’ve ever wondered, “how to get more visits to your website?” or “how to sell more through your e-commerce?” then you’re in the right place.

If you’re not present in the digital world, you don’t exist commercially in today’s world, so many merchants have decided to change or complement their physical presence with a digital presence, sometimes unaware that this transformation to be sufficiently effective requires dedication and professional techniques. Being in digital media expands the spectrum of your audience, but you need to be visible enough to reach thousands of people 24 hours a day; this is achieved with constant and specialized work.

Websites, like physical locations, require architecture, window dressing, customer service, payment gateways, cleanliness, organization, and constant maintenance to be attractive to receive digital visits. Like any store, we aim to locate ours on a busy street with significant foot traffic that allows us to generate visibility. The same happens in the digital world, which is why we work on what we call web optimization, the famous SEO that many talk about, for its acronym in English Search Engine Optimization.

Bill Gates said: “The Internet is becoming the central square of tomorrow’s global village.” Unlike that tomorrow, which is today, your website’s SEO must be a priority in your digital conquest!

SEO, or search engine optimization, has as its main function to connect the content of your website with people who are searching for the services and/or products you offer. In digital marketing, SEO work should be based on building strategies to generate visits and applying practices that improve positioning and take you to the top of search engines.

Why is it so important to have good positioning on Google?

90% of people click on web pages that appear on the first page of the search engine, and these sites are the ones that receive the majority of clicks and therefore have a greater chance of converting visits into transactions.

Web pages have two options for positioning, (i) organic, which is what we all aspire to, and (ii) paid, to websites like Google.

Organic positioning requires more effort and dedication; here we share 5 of the many practices that you should consider to ensure that your website is as optimal as possible for its positioning:

1- Meta description:

This is the initial phrase that describes your website on Google. It should be specific and include keywords about what you offer. If your website does not have this description, Google will write it for you and usually does not do the best job, so take advantage of this space to invite your potential customers to enter your website and learn more about you.

2- Optimal content:

Google measures the quality of your content in relation to other similar websites to yours and gives you better positioning when your texts and images are optimized. The content you generate for your website should start from the knowledge of your target audience and their customer journey. Our recommendation is that you optimize your content with constant blog posts, using words and terms associated with your line of business. The more content you have, the better, as this will also help your potential customers find you. Generate your content thinking about the following: what questions would my ideal customer ask? What information would they want to know? What words or terms would they use on Google or other search engines to find me?

3- Loading time:

Make sure to host your website on a server suitable for the type of website you have, and that the images and content you upload are not so heavy that they detract from the loading time of your website. In fact, the loading time and slowness of websites are one of the most frequent complaints from users and one of the main factors why many users abandon websites and lose positions in search engines. How long does it take for your website to load?

4- Secure site:

Websites require security so that consumers feel safe browsing them. The SSL (Secure Socket Layer) certificate is a global security standard that allows servers to transfer information to and from your website securely. Search engines can block sites that do not have this certificate or display warning notices to web surfers when they try to access the website.

5- Optimization and mobile compatibility:

The global trend is mobile-first, which means that people mainly connect and work from mobile devices such as cell phones and tablets. This is why websites should be responsive, a website that adjusts correctly to the size of your screen and allows for a good user experience regardless of the device from which the page is visited. In addition to being responsive, we know that mobile devices do not read certain codes like Flash or Java, so certain animations and functions lose their usability, and this must be considered in the construction of any website.
